Three pregnant sheep have been killed in a horrific dog attack in Wiltshire.
Wiltshire Police say the serious incident took place in Upper Chute, around four miles north-west of Ludgershall, at around 7.30am on Wednesday (1 April).
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which occurred in a field off Malthouse Lane.
A flock of ewes was attacked by what is believed to have been a loose dog. Three ewes in lamb died and several others were left injured.
Officers believe the dog may have been off the lead while being walked in the area, or could have escaped from a nearby home.
Due to the severity of the injuries, police say it is likely the dog to have been covered in blood following the fatal mauling.
