Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend Reading Festival in August.
Organisers yesterday announced that all weekend and individual day tickets for the event have sold out after the government confirmed it’s roadmap out of the coronavirus lockdown.
Whilst all restrictions on social contact are expected to be lifted on 21 June, there’s a very real possibility they may be pushed back if cases rise.
The event, which often sees in excess of 100,000 attendees, could take place between 27 and 29 August.
Hundreds of Wiltshire residents are likely to be at the event in the hight of summer, which may cause the county a spike in COVID-19 cases in the weeks following.
The Reading Festival website reads: “After the year we had, it was always going to happen.
“We never lost faith, and today we’re excited to say that – thanks to everyone who managed to purchase a ticket – Reading Festival 2021 is now officially SOLD OUT.
“It’s going to be a summer to remember, and we can’t wait to welcome you back into the fields.”
