A teenage girl has been rushed to hospital after a crash in Melksham this morning (Thursday).
Emergency services were called to Lowbourne, near the junction for Ruskin Avenue, shortly before 7am.
A blue Mercedes ML 270 struck a pedestrian – a teenage girl – leaving her injured at the roadside.
Two ambulance crews provided treatment at the scene and took the girl to Royal United Hospital in Bath for further care.
It’s believed the driver of the car remained at the scene and was not arrested in relation to the incident.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said the victim’s injuries are “are not thought to be life-changing”.
The road was partially blocked until approximately 8.15am, but traffic coped well past the scene.
