A Swindon woman has been rescued from a drainage ditch following a crash on the A419.
The major road was closed as emergency services attended a road traffic collision at around 4.30pm on Thursday afternoon (29 August).
The incident involved a Volkswagen Golf, which had left the carriageway into a drainage ditch close to the junction for the Spine Road in the Cotswold Water Park.
The driver, a woman in her 30s from Swindon, was trapped in the vehicle – sparking a significant 999 response.
Two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform appliance attended the crash alongside police and the ambulance service.
Gloucestershire Constabulary said the injured woman was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, but her condition isn’t believed to be serious.
The force added that the road was closed southbound until around 7pm.
