A Swindon route is closed for collision investigation after a car ploughed into a shopfront.
It’s believed emergency services were called to the scene near Iceland in Cricklade Road shortly after midnight this morning (Saturday).
A black Honda Civic appears wrecked in the road, with significant front-end damage.
The front of Michael’s Workwear has also been damaged – it appears the car ploughed into the building.
Forensic collision investigation work is ongoing at the scene and the road – between Great Western Way and Ferndale Road – isn’t likely to reopen until this afternoon.
Further details – including if anybody was seriously injured – are unknown at this time.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Cricklade Road is closed between Great Western Way and Ferndale Road following a road traffic collision.
“The closure will be on for a number of hours. The small sub access leading to Cricklade Road has also been closed.
“Please seek a different route. Thank you for your patience.”
