A Swindon man has admitted arranging to abuse a child and distributing vile images.
Joe Crawley pleaded guilty to a string of eight sexual offences when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (25 February).
The 23-year-old, of Woodford Close, Penhill, accepted two charges of arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.
One of the crimes related to planning the sexual assault of a youngster under the age of 13 in October 2024. The second offence dated back to 2021.
Furthermore, Crawley admitted possessing 192 indecent images of children, including 19 described as being in the most serious category – showing penetrative abuse.
He also pleaded guilty to distributing seven of the abhorrent images to others, and possessing ten “extreme” images involving intercourse with live animals.
District Judge Joanna Dickens deemed the case too serious, sending it to Swindon Crown Court for sentencing on 27 March.
The defendant was released on bail with conditions not to have any unsupervised contact with children.
Crawley was ordered to register as a sex offender within 72 hours.
