A suspected stalker who managed to elude police officers responding to calls about him has been arrested, a police inspector has said.
Officers had failed to locate the man in the West Swindon area for three nights in a row, but in the early hours of this morning (Friday 15 January) an arrest was made.
Wiltshire Police said the suspect, a 31-year-old local man, was taken to Gablecross Police Station, held on suspicion of stalking. He remains in custody.
Inspector Louis McCoy said he has “eluded us all week but my team weren’t taking no for an answer”, adding that their work has seen an alleged victim safeguarded.
