A suspected drink driver crashed his vehicle on the M4 in the early hours of this morning (Monday).
Roads policing and armed officers were called to the incident on Wiltshire’s stretch of the motorway.
A silver Renault sustained significant front-end damage in the collision, but it’s not known what it impacted with.
The driver, a man, left the scene of the smash – attempting to flee undetected.
Police officers were able to locate and arrest the suspect. He was taken to hospital for minor injuries, where he will undergo a blood test to ascertain if he was impaired at the time.
