A suspected drink driver has been ejected from their car in a dramatic crash.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Staverton, north of Trowbridge, at around 6pm this evening (Thursday 17 November).
The incident happened on the B3105 New Terrace between Bradford Road crossroads and B3105 Staverton Mill.
A male driver, who police say blew a non-evidential reading of 94 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, lost control of his car and left the road.
The vehicle rolled, ejecting the driver from his seat through the window. Surprisingly, the man didn’t suffer any significant injuries.
The drink-drive limit is 35 microgrammes, but an evidential reading can only be taken in police custody.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended the scene alongside police, local ambulance crews and a fire engine from Trowbridge.
After receiving medical treatment, the driver will be conveyed the Melksham custody.
The route is currently closed to traffic – but is expected to reopen later tonight.
