Six men charged with serious offences after police raids in Swindon

Six men have been charged with serious offences after police raided homes in Swindon.

Working with Devon and Cornwall Police, Wiltshire Police officers executed warrants at properties across the borough on Wednesday (4 February).

The Serious and Organised Crime Unit cops took seven men into custody. Of which, six have been charged and one has been released on bail.

Frankie O’Dwyer, 25, of Ermin Street, Swindon, charged with:

• False imprisonment

• Conspiracy to commit burglary dwelling with intent to steal

• Possess with intent to supply Class B cannabis

• Participate in the criminal activities of an organised crime group

Alton O’Connell, 27, of Highdown Way, Swindon, charged with:

• Kidnap

• Conspiracy to commit burglary dwelling with intent to steal

• Participate in the criminal activities of an organised crime group

• Handling stolen goods

• False imprisonment

Luke McInerny, 31, of Bath Road, Swindon, charged with:

• Kidnap

• Conspiracy to commit burglary dwelling with intent to steal

• Participate in the criminal activities of an organised crime group

• Handling stolen goods

• False imprisonment

• Possession of counterfeit currency

Karl Houghton, 36, of Elgin Drive, Swindon, charged with:

• Conspiracy to commit burglary dwelling with intent to steal

• Participate in the criminal activities of an organised crime group

Dwain Stratford, 35, of Beech Avenue, Swindon, charged with:

• Conspiracy to commit burglary dwelling with intent to steal

• Participate in the criminal activities of an organised crime group

Nicholas O’Dwyer, 56, of Groundwell Road, Swindon, charged with:

• Conspiracy to commit burglary dwelling with intent to steal

• Participate in the criminal activities of an organised crime group

• Possession of counterfeit currency

All six suspects have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Exeter Magistrates Court this morning (Friday).
