A school’s warning parents about an incident in which a child was approached by an unknown person.
The incident happened on Thornhill Road in South Marston at around 3pm this afternoon.
South Marston C Of E Primary School issued the warning, which reads: “Please be aware that a child was approached on the way home from school.
“A grey Mercedes stopped by the junction of Thornhill Road / Yew Tree Gardens on the way out of the village, and beckoned for the child to approach the car.
“The child did the right thing and ran home. The police have been informed.
“Please be vigilant and talk to your children.”
