A recycling centre is closed after the discovery of a ‘potentially deadly explosive device’.
The bomb squad have been tasked with the incident at EMR, a metal recycling centre in Swindon, after the suspected explosive was located earlier today (7 April).
Wiltshire Police is also in attendance, cordoning off an area of the large site in Gipsy Lane.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit is en route to the scene and is expected within hours.
Most of the operations on the site have stopped, but EMR-branded lorries appear to be entering and exiting regularly.
Members of the public are being turned away, with the main gates closed and several staff guarding the entrance.
