Wiltshire Police has stepped up patrols in an area of Swindon following a traveller incursion.
At least ten caravans, cars and vans have pitched up in a field next to a children’s play area in Tadpole Lane, Tadpole Garden Village at around midday today.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were informed today (10/06) of a group of travellers which has arrived in the area of Tadpole Lane, Swindon – comprising of approximately ten caravans plus vehicles.
“Our officers have engaged with the group and Swindon Borough Council are aware of the situation.
“We are currently making patrols in the area while the group remains.”
