Wiltshire Police has provided an update on the roads following flooding in Chippenham.

A significant section of the town centre was found to be underwater on Monday morning (25 November), with many homes and businesses affected.

Bridge Centre Roundabout, Avenue La Flèche, High Street and Bath Road were also closed to motorists and pedestrians as the incident was dealt with.

This morning (Tuesday), all roads reopened. However, the numerous sets of traffic lights are out.

In an update, a force spokesperson said: “Bridge Centre Roundabout and Avenue La Flèche are now open and the High Street is also now passable.

“All road closures have been lifted.

“Please be mindful that the traffic lights on the Bridge centre roundabout are not working so please take care when driving through.

“Wiltshire Council have been made aware.

“Thank you all for your patience over the last few days.”
