Police officers in south Wiltshire have tonight responded a stabbing in Amesbury.
Emergency services were called to Jaggard View at around 7.15pm on Halloween, 31 October, after a 15-year-old girl was stabbed in the shoulder.
Police arrived at the scene within six minutes of the initial call, where a teenage boy was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article. He is currently in police custody in Melksham.
The girl’s injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening and she’s currently being treated at Salibsury District Hospital.
A/Inspector Michael Standing, from Wiltshire South Community Policing Team, said: “I know this is an incident which will understandably be causing great concern amongst the community in Amesbury.
“I want to reassure you that this was an isolated incident and that we very quickly made an arrest.
“Given the ages of those involved I would urge people not to speculate on social media, but to leave us to continue with our investigation.
“However, if anyone does have information which could assist with our enquiries then we would ask you to phone police.”
