Police raided a property in Devizes over drug dealing concerns today (Thursday).
Armed officers supported local units in executing a warrant at a home in Eastleigh Road – after fears there may be a large quantity of illicit substances inside.
Access to the building was forced, using a mini chainsaw and a battering ram before searches were carried out. A car outside the address was also checked for drugs.
The Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Wilkinson was also on the scene.
He said: “This morning I’ve been out with police officers who were executing warrants in Devizes where intelligence suggested there could be large amounts of drugs at an address.
“Enforcement of this kind is incredibly important in putting a stop to county lines networks which are complex, often hidden, and target some of the most vulnerable people in Wiltshire and Swindon.”
“I was pleased to be able to see the officers in action and support them during today’s operation”, he added.
What officers found during the operation has not yet been confirmed. Wiltshire Police has been approached for comment.
