A man’s been arrested after police swarmed a residential street in Swindon.
Officers stopped and detained a suspect – suspected of stealing items from various shops – in Burford Avenue, Old Walcot, at around 12.15pm today (Thursday).
One officer could be seen walking up and down the road looking at the ground, believed to have been searching for anything that may have been discarded by the male.
The suspect, aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of eight counts of shoplifting.
The man remains in custody for questioning this afternoon.
