A woman has been arrested after reportedly taunting family of fatal crash victim.

The 54-year-old is said to have sent a private message to a relative of Neil Sharp – who was killed by a motorbike being ridden by a drug dealer in Swindon.

22-year-old Darren Roberts was jailed for death by dangerous driving and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs yesterday (6 May).

Now police say a woman – thought to be a relative of Roberts – has been arrested on suspicion of sending malicious communications.

It comes after a private message was sent to a family member of the victim on Facebook – reportedly taunting them about the defendant’s sentence.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We have arrested a 54-year-old woman on suspicion of malicious communications following a private message over social media yesterday to the family of a man who died after being hit by a motorbike.

“The comment was in relation to the sentencing of 22-year-old Darren Roberts, who was jailed yesterday (06/05) for death by dangerous driving after running a red light and colliding with 38-year-old

“Neil Sharp on a pedestrian crossing in Drakes Way, Swindon on January 31, 2022.

“She is currently in custody for questioning.”
