A man’s been charged with assaulting an emergency worker after police were called to an incident at a shop in Melksham last Friday afternoon.
Police officers responded to a report of a disorder involving an intoxicated male at AVAD Convenience Store in Forest Road at just before 6pm on 22 May.
It’s claimed Salisbury man Jason Wynter, 49, smashed bottles of alcohol in the shop and then went on to damage a vehicle outside before he left the scene.
He was later located and arrested. During his arrest he is said to have assaulted an officer by kicking and spitting at them, so he was further arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.
Mr Wynter has since been charged and remanded in custody to appear in court.
