A police dog has located a high-risk missing person at a country park in Swindon tonight (Monday).
Officers, supported by a police helicopter from Oxford, launched an urgent operation to find the vulnerable person at around 8.30pm.
They descended on Stanton Park, searching the open space and woodland.
Police dog Stan was called on to support the hunt — eventually locating the missing person in bushes in the pitch black.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “The helicopter has been up over Stanton Woods, Stanton Fitzwarrren helping us search for a missing person tonight.
”But the hero of the hour was PD Stan and his ‘chauffeur’ PC Kavanagh.
”Stan found the person, despite the fact they were completely concealed in bushes in the dark. Good boy Stan, good boy!”
