Detectives investigating a sexual assault in Andover are appealing to anyone that recognises the man in a newly released e-fit to come forward.

Although the attack took place across the border, the offender could be from anywhere.

The incident took place between midnight and 2am on Sunday 19 March, at the back of the Wolversdene Club, in Love Lane.

The 22-year-old victim was approached by a man and then sexually assaulted.

The man is described as: white, eastern European, aged 30 to 40-years-old, has a big nose, chubby face and cheeks and light stubble. He also has a scar under his left eye.

At the time of the attack, he was wearing a black hooded top that was zipped at the front, with the hood up, and dark and silky tracksuit bottoms. He was wearing white and black Nike trainers which were black around the foot and with a white tick near the heel

Detective Constable Ed Tyrie said: “Fortunately these types of incidents are rare in Andover and we are following all available lines of enquiry.

“Speaking to victims in investigations like these can be a long and complex process, and we are only now in a position to publish this efit image.

“Do you remember being in the area of Love Lane in the early hours of Sunday 19 March?

“Remember seeing anything suspicious? Do you recognise the man in the efit image? If so, please get in touch. You may hold information that is vital to our investigation.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting 44170115518. Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
