A closure order has been granted for a flat in Devizes following ongoing reports of anti-social behaviour.
The order relates to an address in Eastbourne House on Bridewell Street and was authorised at Swindon Magistrates Court today (Friday).
It has been put in place to protect the occupants of the flat and will remain active for a period of three months.
Under the terms of the order, only the occupants are permitted to enter the address.
Access is also allowed for officials named on the order, including emergency services and housing association representatives.
Anyone else found attending the property during the period of the order will be committing an offence, and could be arrested and prosecuted.
Sgt Deborah Laycock said: “Following repeated, and continued incidents reported at the address, we sought to obtain a closure order to protect the vulnerable occupants, and I am pleased that we have had this authorised by magistrates today.
“We hope this closure order helps prevent further anti-social behaviour at the address – we will continue to monitor its effectiveness, and our officers will carry out regular patrols to ensure it is being adhered to.”
