Police officers were called out to a quiet residential road this morning after an elderly couple opened their door to find a small human sleeping in their doorway.

Startled, they asked the young man to move from outside their property. He did so without argument, but fell back to sleep at the roadside – with his legs partially in the road.

Fearing for the safety of the man, 101 was called and police were sent to the scene on Dudmore Road at around 9.30am – just a stone’s throw from Swindon Ambulance Station.

The man was responsive, but sleepy, when spoken to. It’s not believed he was injured in any way.
