Two men have been arrested at the scene of a road traffic collision in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash in Dorcan Way at just after 12.30pm reporting a collision on the roundabout with Kingfisher Drive.
Two Renaults were involved – one red and one white. Neither suffered any significant damage.
The driver of the white car – a female believed to be in her 20s -was taken to an ambulance for treatment but she’s not thought to have suffered any serious injuries.
The driver of the red car failed a roadside drugs wipe and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving. The 31-year-old man has been taken to Gablecross custody.
The 35-year-old male passenger of the same vehicle was arrested on suspicion of unrelated shoplifting offences. On a search of his person at the roadside, he was further arrested on suspicion of possession of class C drugs. He has also been taken to Gablecross custody.
The road reopened in both directions at around 2pm.
“A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving and a 35-year-old man was also arrested at the scene on suspicion of unrelated shoplifting offences [and possession of Class C drugs]”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.
Adding: “They have both been transported to custody at Gablecross Police Station.”
