Police have increased patrols across the Warminster area following a series of burglaries and attempted burglaries targeting petrol-powered equipment.
Eight reports have been received in the last month, with unknown suspects stealing or attempting to steal items such as gardening tools from lock-ups and estates.
The offences have been reported in Fovant, Berwick St John, Mere and Zeals.
Officers from the Rural Crime Team and the Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team are carrying out increased patrols in a bid to identify suspicious activity and reassure local communities.
Police are also engaging with farms, parish councils and residents as part of their efforts to prevent further offences.
Anyone who sees suspicious people or vehicles in the area is urged to report it by calling 101 or using the force’s website. In an emergency, always call 999.
