New photographs have revealed the damage a house sustained in a crash in Swindon.
A driver ploughed their car into the semi-detached property in Cricklade Road in the early hours of 3 January.
The white Mercedes saloon was left embedded in the living room, demolishing a large section of the wall.
Half the porch and a wall connecting the living room were knocked down – exposing the inside of the building.
It’s understood the homeowner no longer resides at the address and the building is empty.
Nobody was injured during the dramatic smash – but the driver was reported to court for driving without due care and attention as a result.
It’s the second time a vehicle has been involved in a collision with the address. A car crashed into the garden in late 2022 but didn’t hit the building itself.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We responded to a road traffic collision just before 3am yesterday morning (04/01) in which a car struck a house on Cricklade Road in Swindon.
“The driver was reported for careless driving.
“A structural engineer has checked the building, which is thought to be unoccupied, to ensure it is safe.”
