UPDATE: Woman dies after being struck by train at Trowbridge station
A person has been hit by a train at Trowbridge station this evening (Wednesday).
Emergency services, including the British Transport Police, were called to the scene at 6pm.
The station was cordoned off for approximately two hours as officers investigated the incident, with the line reopening at around 8.30pm.
In a statement, GWR said: “Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Bristol Temple Meads and Westbury all lines are blocked.
“Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.”
It continued: “Due to the emergency service dealing with an incident at Trowbridge Railway Station, train services between Bristol to Westbury, Swindon to Westbury will be heavily delayed or cancelled.”
