A pensioner has been arrested after a man was stabbed in an incident in Devizes.
Emergency services raced to reports of a knife attack at an address off Station Road at around 5.30pm on Wednesday afternoon (3 December).
Police officers responded after “a man was stabbed inside a property”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed.
Wiltshire 999s understands it happened at Elizabeth House in Moyne Close – a sheltered housing complex for the elderly.
They said that the victim – whose age hasn’t be disclosed – was “treated for serious injuries”, however they are not being described as life-threatening.
South Western Ambulance Service said an ambulance crew “conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal United Hospital Bath” for further treatment.
A 74-year-old man was arrested suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
He was taken into custody and questioned, before being released on conditional bail while further investigative work is carried out.
The incident happened at around the same time as a stabbing in Penhill, Swindon. There a man was seriously hurt and rushed to hospital.
