A pedestrian struck by a car on A350 in Melksham has been rushed to hospital.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision outside Asda in Beanacre Road at around 6.15pm this evening (Friday).
A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle, sustaining serious injuries – and was treated by Great Western Air Ambulance Charity’s critical care medics.
Wiltshire Police has confirmed their injuries aren’t thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.
The incident is thought to have taken place on the crossing directly outside Asda. The road was closed southbound from the Asda junction but reopened at 7.30pm.
In an earlier statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that we are currently at the scene of a serious collision on the A350 just north of Farmers Roundabout.
“The road is currently closed with long tailbacks. Please find alternate routes.”
