The owner of a cat who sunk his teeth into a child at Trowbridge Town Park has spoken out.
In a post on social media yesterday (6 January), a person claimed their daughter was “sat cuddling” the pet when it decided to bite her – and wouldn’t let go.
A passing woman stopped to help prize the cat’s mouth from the child’s arm.
They poster added that “we love him but wanted to warn people to be a bit wary when cuddling him”.
Responding to the comments made online, the animal’s owner said: “This is my cat, I have always warned people not to pick him up. He likes attention but it’s at your own risk.
“He’s our pet and is friendly enough with his family but you are all strangers and if you can’t recognise warning signs then best to leave him alone when visiting the park.
“He gets a lot a fuss and can’t communicate when he’s had enough. He’s still an animal at the end of the day and you should always be careful.”
