A multi-vehicle crash on the A419 near Swindon is causing significant delays.
Emergency services were called to the major route southbound at around 4.30pm this afternoon (Thursday) following a road traffic collision.
Wiltshire Police are in attendance and the carriageway has been closed. It’s understood the ambulance service are on scene too.
The incident, which happened at or near to the Cricklade junction, is causing traffic miles of tailbacks.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “Please be aware that the A419 southbound near Cricklade is currently blocked due to a collision.
“There are not thought to be any serious injuries but there are delays while we await recovery of the vehicles involved.
“Please find alternate routes.”
A spokesperson for National Highways said: “Report of a collision on the A419 southbound between the B4040 and B4019 near Cricklade Wiltshire due to a multi vehicle collision.
“Wiltshire Police on scene. There are currently delays of 45 mins on approach to the incident.”
