A motorcyclist has died in a serious collision in Melksham yesterday evening.
The rider of a Honda – for reasons unknown at this time – dropped the motorcycle, became separated from it, and slid down the road into the path of oncoming traffic.
The incident happened at around 5.50pm, 1 September, on the A365 Bath Road.
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
A number of vehicles were involved in the collision, but no one else suffered injuries.
