A motorcyclist has died following a serious collision at the A350 West Ashton crossroads yesterday evening (17/12).
At around 9.10pm, a Yamaha YP 400 moped travelling northeast on the A350 towards Semington was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Taigo travelling from the direction of West Ashton Road.
The rider of the Yamaha, a man in his 60s from Westbury, was sadly declared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the Taigo, a man in his 20s, suffered no reported injuries.
A road closure remains in place in both directions on the A350 between Yarnbrook and Ashton Common.
Forensic collision investigation work is ongoing at the scene, but the route is expected to reopen at around midday.
