Two man were arrested after a man was seriously injured in an attack in Swindon town centre.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Dryden Street at around 11.30pm following reports of an assault whereby the victim had been knocked unconscious.
An ambulance, with police escort, was seen driving down Curtis Street in the wrong direction as they rushed the casualty to Great Western Hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A man in his 30s had been assaulted by two men causing him to lose consciousness.
“Enquiries were conducted immediately and officers attended an address in the town and arrested two men aged 29 and 32 on suspicion of GBH. They are currently in custody at Gablecross.
“We believe the suspects may have been known to the victim and enquiries are continuing today.”
