A man has been ‘repeatedly struck over the head’ in an attack at Swindon bus station.
Emergency services were called to the scene off Manchester Road at around 11.50pm last night (Thursday, 18 July).
The victim, a man aged in his 40s, sustained injuries which required hospital treatment.
Wiltshire Police say it’s claimed the casualty was struck over the head repeatedly with an item.
A suspect, a man aged in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody for questioning.
A crime scene is in place at the bus station, but bus services are operating as usual.
A second crime scene is also in place in Western Street, Old Town, in connection with the investigation.
The victim is understood to have been discharged from hospital, and is expected to recovery from his wounds.
