A man has suffered serous injuries in a ‘fight’ in a street in Trowbridge.
Police were called to reports of a disorder breaking out in Charlotte Square at around 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon (7 December).
Officers arrived on scene to find a number of people involved – with one man, aged in his 30s, sustaining serious wounds in the incident.
He is understood to have gone to hospital for treatment, but his injuries aren’t thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.
A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion inflicting grievous bodily harm and affray.
A police officer was also injured at the scene, having been kicked by the suspect. He was further arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.
A second man, also aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of affray.
Both men have been released on bail as the investigation continues.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A scene was put in place to allow for enquiries to be carried out and has since been lifted.
