A man’s been charged with five difference offences following a shooting in Swindon.
Armed police were called to reports of a robbery on an industrial estate last Tuesday before suspect, 59-year-old Howard Jones, of Shrivenham Road, was shot in the leg by an officer.
He was taken airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious injuries and later arrested on suspicion of committing an armed robbery.
Today, Wiltshire Police has confirmed he has been charged with:
- Possession of a firearm or imitation firearm whilst committing or being arrested for a schedule 1 offence
- Robbery
- Actual Bodily Harm (ABH)
- Assault on an emergency worker
- Breach of bail
He has been remanded in custody and is due before Swindon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
