A man missing a sock was cuffed on the floor of Iceland after an assault in Chippenham.
Armed officers responded to reports of a disorder involving a suspect with a weapon in St Mary’s Street at around 5.30pm on Tuesday afternoon (15 September).
It’s understood the man had broken two legs off a chair and had attacked another man with them, causing him bloody injuries.
The incident went from the street to the nearby Iceland store in Market Place, with a firearms officer was pictured with two males in handcuffs.
One man was seen to be lying on the floor of the supermarket, and was missing a sock. His shoes were also missing.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that officers were called to reports of two men fighting.
The force said that a man, aged in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
A second man, aged in his 20s, was arrested for affray. Both suspects remain in custody.
