A man has suffered a knife wound in a violent bicycle robbery in Chippenham.
Police were called to the serious incident in Kingsley Park, near the Southmead estate, at around 4pm on Monday afternoon (13 October).
The victim, a man, was robbed of his bicycle – sustaining a injury inflected with a blade. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that an 18-year-old man has been grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a bladed article, affray and theft.
He remains in custody for questioning this morning (Tuesday).
The stolen bicycle has since been recovered and will be returned to its rightful owner.
The force is urging anyone who was in the area between 4pm and 4.20pm and remembers seeing a disturbance between a man wearing a black tracksuit and another person wearing a grey hoodie and sand coloured cargo trousers to contact them.
