A man ‘remains in intensive care’ after an incident at a block of flats in Swindon.
Emergency services raced to reports of a disorder at a property off Frobisher Drive at around 12.45pm on Sunday (29 September).
More than 16 police vehicles lined the road as officers – it’s understood – suspected a man, aged in his 30s, may have been seriously assaulted.
The casualty went into cardiac arrest and medics battled to save his life. Once stable, he was taken to hospital – where he reportedly remains in intensive care.
At the time, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said the man was hospitalised “as a precautionary measure but is not thought to be in a life-threatening condition”.
It’s believed the man took an overdose and several people who were with him left the scene. Concerned he had been attacked, officers and detectives carried out urgent enquiries.
The force later confirmed: “It was reported as a disorder but appeared to be a medical incident.”
