A man has been hospitalised after police were called to a ‘disorder’ at a block of flats in Swindon.
Emergency services responded to an incident unfolding at a property in Frobisher Drive, Walcot, at around 12.45pm this afternoon (Sunday).
According to locals, a man – aged in his 30s – was in cardiac arrest and received CPR at the scene.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was tasked, with the helicopter touching down on Buckhurst Field as a team of critical care medics treated the patient.
He was rushed to hospital for urgent care. However, Wiltshire Police say he is only being taken to hospital as a “precautionary measure” and he isn’t in a life-threatening condition.
Armed police officers deployed a drone, searching for potential suspects who may have fled the area. Detectives were also present, and door-to-door enquiries were undertaken by PCSOs.
At the height of the incident, there were 16 police vehicles, two ambulances, an ambulance rapid response vehicle and an air ambulance at the scene.
It’s understood the significant 999 response was due to concerns the casualty had been attacked.
“A cordon was initially set up but has now been lifted as a result of the information we have gained so far”, a spokesperson for the force said.
