A man has been hospitalised after firefighters saved him from a blaze in Swindon.
Emergency services responded to reports of smoke issuing from a ground-floor flat in Rodbourne Road shortly before 3pm on Sunday (26 April).
Three fire engines – from Swindon, Westlea and Royal Wootton Bassett attended the scene – bringing an unconscious man to to safety.

Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance landed nearby as the charity’s critical care medics raced to provide treatment alongside local ambulance crew.
As four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked to extinguish the flames with a hose reel jet, the casualty was rushed to hospital.

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust confirmed that the man was taken to the Great Western Hospital. His condition is unknown.
999 teams remained at the scene until shortly after 4.30pm. A Swindon Borough Council worker was also present, providing support to other residents of the flat block.
