A 28-year-old Swindon man is due in court tomorrow charged with a child sex offence after a paedophile hunter sting in the town centre.

Mark Lee Smith was detained by Danny Catcher (formally operating under the name Western Hunters) for allegedly attempting to meet a child for sex in mid-June.

He’s due to appear before Swindon Crown Court on Friday 21 July, charged with attempting to cause/incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Mark Lee Smith of no fixed address has been released on conditional bail to attend crown court on Friday 21 July 2017 at 10am.

“This follows an arrested made by Wiltshire Police officers yesterday evening (approximately 6.30pm on Thursday 22 June 2017) in Swindon Town Centre.”
