A man has died inside a Swindon home after an air ambulance was scrambled.
Emergency services responded to an address in Argyle Street, Gorse Hill, at around 12.30pm on Tuesday (11 November).
999 vehicles lined the road – locals reported seeing an ambulance, an ambulance rapid response vehicle and at least three police cars.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance also attended, landing in a field off Chapel Street.
Despite the best efforts of medics, a man – aged in his 40s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speculation online of a stabbing is false. According to a neighbour, the man had died as a result of a drug overdose. However, this has not been confirmed by authorities.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson confirmed that officers were called to a “sudden death”.
They added: “There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and our thoughts are with his family at this time.”
