A man has been pronounced dead after emergency services were called to a house in Trowbridge.

Wiltshire Police attended the address in Frome Road shortly before 10am this morning (15 February), forcing entry into a room in a shared house.

The officers found the body of a man in his 50s and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was a police presence in the area for some time, with at least two police vehicles parked outside.

A private ambulance arrived at the scene, near the junction with Rock Road, shortly before 2pm to remove the man’s body from the house.

Despite the visible police presence, the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

A force spokesperson said: “At around 9.55am this morning (15/02) we were called to the sudden death of a man in his 50s at a property in Frome Road, Trowbridge.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will now be prepared for HM Coroner.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this difficult time.”
