A man has been charged with murder over the death of a newborn baby in Wiltshire.
26-year-old Jamie Fulford is accused of murdering five-week-old boy Jaxson Noah Egerton.
The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance on 1 September 2022. Just eight days later, his life support was removed and he was pronounced dead.
The Major Crime Investigation Team at Wiltshire Police launched a murder probe, arresting an 18-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman.
Detectives have secured charges for both Fulford and Jaxson’s mother, 22-year-old Sophie Egerton – who faces an allegation of causing or allowing the death of a child.

Alongside murder, Fulford also faces a charge of causing or allowing the death of a child.
Both defendants, of Tournament Road in Bemerton Heath, are currently on bail and are due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Friday, 8 May).
Following their arrest back in 2022, specialist search officers carried out extensive enquiries at their home address.

Wiltshire 999s was on scene to capture events unfolding – including the combing of cars parked on the driveway with a dog.
During the course of their search, officers lifted the bonnets of two cars – a Land Rover and an Audi. They also checked under stones and bricks and in the undergrowth.

Forensics bagged and removed a number of items from inside the semi-detached home, including a mattress and pillow.
