A man suffered a cardiac arrest at a restaurant in Swindon – but staff were able to restart his heart.
Paramedics were called to the serious incident at the Toby Carvery in Elstree Way this afternoon (Friday).
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was also tasked, landing in Abbey Meads. Critical care medics were conveyed to the scene in a police vehicle.
A man, aged in his 80s, was dining at the restaurant when he suffered a cardiac arrest.
Staff immediately started CPR on the gentleman – successfully restarting his heart as emergency services were rushing to the incident.
The patient was stabilised before being taken to Great Western Hospital for further treatment. It’s not clear if he was conveyed there by land ambulance or air ambulance.
The restaurant was closed while first responders worked, but has since reopened to customers.
