A man has sexually assaulted a woman in Melksham – before running away.
The attack took place at about 7.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, 12 March) between Cranesbill Road and the nature area that leads to Blueberry Road.
It’s said that she crossed a bridge in the open space – along from Primrose Nature Area – when a man touched her other her clothes.
The suspect ran away following the assault, with police now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
He is described as about five foot eight inches tall and he was wearing a dark coloured hoodie and grey jogging bottoms.
Inspector Liam Winstone said: “This was a really concerning incident and it’s vital that anyone who was in the area at the time who could have potentially witnessed what took place should contact us as a matter of urgency.
“We are also asking anyone with doorbell or dash cam footage to make themselves known to us.”
