A man has been arrested after a woman was seriously injured in a Swindon crash.
The victim, a 40-year-old woman, was left for dead in Dorcan Way – after being struck by a car in the early hours of Saturday morning (8 November).
She was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment, where she remains in a serious by stable condition. Police launched an investigation into the circumstances.

Now, officers have arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision and causing serious injury by careless driving.
He was taken into custody for question, and has since been released under investigation.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that the car believed to have been involved was located, but not seized in connection with the probe.

“We continue to appeal to anyone who was in the area between 4am and 6am on Saturday November 8 to contact the investigating team”, a force spokesperson said.
