A man’s been arrested in connection with a reported sex attack in a Chippenham park.
Police cordoned off a small section of the green space at Monkton Park on Easter Sunday (9 April).
A person – whose gender has not been disclosed publicly – reported being the victim of a serious sexual assault in the early hours of the morning, sparking a major investigation.
Detectives later arrested a man, aged in his 20s, on suspicion of carrying out the attack. He’s since been released on conditional bail as the probe continues.
In a statement yesterday, Wiltshire Police said: “Detectives are investigating a report of serious sexual assault which occurred in the Monkton Park area of Chippenham in the early hours of this morning.
“As part of our investigation, a cordon was put in place at the scene but this has now been lifted. Enquiries are ongoing.
